This
shrine is located near Tillaivilaakam a railhead on the Tiruvarur Tirutturaippundi
railroad. Idumbavanam is
another Shivastalam in its vicinity. Tillaivilagam houses a Vaishnava
Abhimanastalam enshrining Rama.
Legend has
it that Karpaga Vinayakar prayed to Shiva and obtained the celestial
mango fruit of knowledge here. The Vinayakar shrine here is of great
